The Generic Clothing line is contemporary active wear with a twist. The concept is rooted in simplicity, as the pieces are simple and straight forward. We stick to a monochromatic color scheme and a basic color palate. Though trendy enough for the teen market, the pieces are stylish enough to appeal to fashion forward individuals with discerning taste. Each piece of clothing is tattered by hand, giving it a worn vintage look. The garment tags and sewn-on patches, each of which are stamped, are also handmade. The patches are the signature of Generic Clothing, which bear the name of each item they are placed on. The Generic shirt has a white patch stamped with the word "SHIRT," the hooded sweatshirt has the patch with the popular term "HOODIE" on it, the socks are labeled with "SOCKS" and so on. Celebrity pop culture has become embedded in our everyday lives and so has the obsession with „name brand‟ apparel. In this downward economy, affordability is playing a role in many of our lifestyle choices, including fashion. Generic Clothing seeks to remove the negative stigma of off-brand clothing, by creating fashion forward apparel based on a clever approach.
